The Planning and Follow-up Department / Training and Development Division in the Directorate of Housing, one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, organized a training course entitled (Preparation of Basic Designs for Cities) for the period from 20/24/8/2023. A number of employees from the Directorate’s headquarters and the Ministry’s formations participated in it.
The two lecturers in the course (Eng. Zeina Habib) and (Eng. Ejalal Hassan Aziz) touched on several axes, including:
1. Introduce participants to how to develop urban planning horizons for cities and reduce the phenomenon of slums.
2. Definition of basic design terms for cities in general.
3. Knowing the basic rules for city planning, including the city of Baghdad, and the historical sequence of the stages of basic design since 1920 until 2023.
The course concluded with an exam for the participants.

The Planning and Follow-up Department / Training and Development Division in the Directorate of Housing, one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, organized a training course entitled (The Role of Local Indicators in Promoting Sustainable Housing).
The lecturer (Dr. Zainab Salman Shamma) addressed a number of topics, the most important of which are:
1. Concepts of sustainable housing.
2. Sustainable development.
3. Sustainable housing.
4. Indicators of sustainable housing.
A number of employees in the Directorate and the Ministry’s formations participated in it, and it concluded with a trial exam for the participants.

The Planning and Follow-up Department / Training and Development Division in the Directorate of Housing, one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, in cooperation with the Training and Development Center, organized a training course entitled (Electronic Archiving).
The lecturer (Mr. Sadiq Jabbar Abd), Director of the Information and Communication Technology Department at the Directorate’s headquarters, touched on the principles and basics of electronic archiving due to its importance in maintaining the security and confidentiality of information and the possibility of referring to it in a timely manner, how the archiving system works and the steps of action to reach the main goal.
A number of employees in the Directorate and the Ministry’s formations participated in the course, and it concluded with a trial exam for the participants.

In cooperation with the Training and Development Center, the Planning and Follow-up Department / Training and Development Division in the Directorate of Housing organized an online introductory course on the requirements of environment management on the Zoom application for the period from 13-17/8/2023.
The lecturer in the session (Bushra Bassem Mohsen) touched on the detailed explanation of the ten basic items and how to apply them to the activities, products and services of the institution and to know the environmental dimensions and environmental impact.
The aim of the course was to introduce participants to the environmental management system (ISO 14001: 2015) and the need for an environmental management system and what the standard contains.
The course, in which a number of employees from the Directorate and the Ministry’s formations participated, concluded with a trial exam for all participants.

Within the curriculum of courses and lectures, and in coordination with the Training and Development Center in the Ministry, the Planning and Follow-up Department / Training and Development Division in the Directorate of Housing one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities organized a training course entitled (Occupational Health and Safety) in which a number of employees in the Directorate and employees of the Ministry’s formations participated.
the aim of the course was:
1-Safety in construction projects (residential complexes) and sick buildings.
2-Educate employees and train them on ways to handle critical cases.
3-Methods of dealing with fires of all kinds and first aid.
The course lasted for five days, in which the staff of the Occupational Safety Division (senior engineer Marwa Wasfi Hamid, technical Director Munther Jaafar Sadiq) lectured. It concluded with an examination for all participants.

Within the training plan of Planning and Follow-up Department in the Directorate of Housing, one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, Training and Development Division organized a training course entitled (High-strength concrete using additives). The target group was engineers and workers in the field of on-site execution and concrete production plants.
The aim of the course was: to acquaint the participants with the benefits and components of concrete and their impact on the structural and architectural design of buildings. The course axes were delivered by Eng. Hassan Ali Jaber, which includes:
1. A brief history of the beginning of using this type of concrete
2. Basic concepts of high strength concrete.
3. The idea of high-strength concrete and its production method
4. Raw materials required for the production of high strength concrete 5. The mechanism of adding additives of both types, chemical and mineral, and their effect on the properties of high-strength concrete
6. Comparison between the properties of high strength concrete and ordinary concrete
7. Designing a high-strength concrete mix using additives according to the American method (ACI_Mmethod).
The course concluded with a test for all participants.
